A central walkway in the parking area would help.

The historic charm stands out with high ceilings and elegant decor that gives the space an inviting feel. The cozy downstairs pub is a nice touch for grabbing a drink after a long day, making it a unique experience during your stay.
However, there's a lack of amenities like sufficient luggage assistance since there’s no elevator. Some rooms have issues like air conditioning not functioning properly, which can lead to an uncomfortable night. The carpeting could use a thorough cleaning as several guests noted its poor condition, and sound from upstairs can be disruptive, especially if there's an event.

Beautiful historic hotel with warm staff
I had a wonderful stay at this charming inn. The decor beautifully reflects local history, with spacious and comfortable rooms that include modern amenities like a mini-fridge and Keurig. The friendly staff made me feel right at home, especially Chris at the front desk who shared insightful stories about the hotel's past. My only concern was the restaurant experience, which could use improvement.

A stay here was an absolute delight. The room featured high ceilings and a spacious bathroom with a seamless glass shower, enhancing the overall experience. Staff greeted us warmly, and the unique touch of lemon water and scones upon arrival was appreciated. The property’s location made it easy to explore the area on foot. Although we didn’t try the pub during this visit, the food offerings like the smoked salmon bagels have me looking forward to my next trip.

A beautifully restored historic school building with convenient access to the historical center made for a memorable stay. The large, comfortable rooms featured luxurious bedding and spotless bathrooms with modern finishes. Enjoying the beautifully displayed Gettysburg artwork added a lovely touch, although the TV size was a bit disappointing.

missingWrote a review on Jul 24historic decorcozy barsound isolation
The historic décor captures the charm of the building, making the atmosphere feel unique. Comfortable seating in the cozy bar offers a nice escape after a day exploring the area.
Our king suite, unfortunately, led us to the basement floor—overly small windows presented a dimly lit space that felt almost claustrophobic. Dust and remnants of past occupants, including dead bugs found under the furniture, raised concerns about cleanliness. Additionally, the sound isolation was lacking, as noises from the street and guests above echoed throughout the night, making it hard to get quality rest.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
